Canada / Documentary / 17 mins

Director/Writer:  Wanda Nolan

Producer: Liz Cowie (NFB), Rohan Fernando (NFB)

The Muse is a cross-cultural, cross-generational story about an unlikely relationship between a young Chinese fine-art photographer, Ting Ting Chen, and her muse and best friend, 74-year-old Robert Tilley. This short film celebrates art while challenging the preconceptions we bring to relationships between older men and younger women, to the immigrant contribution to our culture, and to the nature of memory.

United States / Documentary / 25 mins

Director: Annabel Edwards, Mito Habe-Evans

Producer: Tsering Bista, Razi Jafri

Boys of Summer is an NPR original documentary. The film follows two boys at a remote summer camp in the Vermont woods. Free from screens and societal expectations, they learn to open up, support one another, and redefine what it means to be a boy. Boys of Summer is a tender vérité portrait of vulnerability, friendship, and the quiet rebellion of feeling deeply in a world that often tells boys not to.
