TESTIMONIALS
Filmmakers must protect festivals like NY Shorts at all costs! It is so rare to find a festival this large in NYC that chooses films based on merit and artistry, not industry connections or experience. They are serious about giving filmmakers, no matter what stage they are at in their career, a platform to show their work. I met some incredible folks along the way, and what a gift it was to screen 'Bad Mother' at Cinema Village. I can't wait to submit more of my work to NY Shorts. Thank you for a wonderful week!
Molly Longwell / Writer/Director / Bad Mother
It was such an amazing film festival! Tianna did such a wonderful job coordinating the screenings and connecting filmmakers. I felt so welcomed seeing her every day at the reception desk. The Q&A was well-organized, and the crowd was packed. What a wonderful experience to screen your film in NYC. I hope to have a chance to screen my film at their festival again in the future!
Szu-Wei Chen / Writer/Director / A New Year's Dance
Fantastic little gem of a fest. My team was so impressed with the caliber of production and how unique and interesting each of the films was! Great staff, great program, would recommend to anyone getting their feet wet in the biz!
Jenny Paul / Writer/Producer / Parent Teacher Conference
Communication from the festival itself was top notch and it was amazing to have my film screen to an engaged, sold out audience at Cinema Village on a Saturday night in NYC. I was able to meet a lot of talented filmmakers that I'm sure will become friends--will definitely send more projects here in the future!
Joseph Nell / Writer/Director / A Small Planet
I attended all but one of the programs this year and met quite a few interesting filmmakers. The initial Meet & Greet was lots of fun and a good networking opportunity. The Q & A sessions were well run and informative. The festival staff were approachable, friendly and very helpful. I really enjoyed seeing my work up on the big screen in a very strong field of films with an enthusiastic audience. Many thanks for a fine screening event!
David Bemis / Writer/Director / I Hate That

Jake Wells / Writer/Actor / In The Basement There's Some Money
A wonderful festival in the heart of Manhattan. Organizers are passionate about film, and their great taste was evident in the eclectic films selected.
Lots of filmmakers in attendance.
